The Lamb of God Cross

1WMEaster Cross lambI love the new cross Design for Easter 2013. The design may look difficult for beginners but I assure you that I will take you step by step thru painting this and you won’t believe how very simple it really is. So far as the scripture goes, you can use mine or one of your choice, or none at all. The cross itself is beautiful enough to stand alone and make a personal statement of faith.

The scriptures I chose have wonderful significance for Easter. The first one is from Genesis. Remember Abraham was on his way to sacrifice HIS son….and Isaac kept asking his father, “Where is the lamb for the sacrifice?” Abraham said “God, Himself, will provide the Lamb”…a foreshadowing of the day when God did do just that…and in the second Scripture I quoted John the Baptist who said, when he saw Jesus …”Behold the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world.” The LAMB, Abraham foretold 2000 years earlier, was finally here.

I love that the scriptures on this painting come from the Old and New Testaments. And I love the symbolism of the shape of the Cross. The horizontal lines make a bridge pointing from the Old Testament to the New Testament and the vertical lines pointing down from God to Man.

I know I’ve already said this but: love this painting! I had so much fun designing it and painting it and I’d love to paint it with you!

WMEaster Egg2013

This is one incredible month! St Patrick’s Day is Sunday, March 17th; the very next Sunday is Palm Sunday and the next is Easter! The point is, that leaves little time between to schedule Art to Gogh Parties. This week I worked on Easter designs. For those who may not know, painting Easter Eggs is something I do every year. I try to have different designs each year or a special theme. I’m not sure what I’m doing this year, but I do have something new. Last year after Easter I won a couple dozen duck eggs off ebay! They…

6:30-8:30PM

I live in Dublin, Georgia….one thing you find out quickly about Dublin is St. Patrick’s Day is very big…very, very big. In fact, you may be surprised as I was to learn we have the longest St. Patrick’s celebration in the whole wide world…Yes, longer than anything Ireland has ever even thought of.  We begin in February with the crowning of our Queens…Miss St. Patrick and Miss Emerald City. Early Crowning is necessary because the Queens must preside over the events of the month….everything from Pancake Supper with GREEN pancakes to BBQ Cook-off,  Leprechaun Contest,  Parade,  Arts and Crafts in…

Welcome budding artists

  • Posted on February 18, 2013 at 8:38 PM

You may not think you are a budding artist, but trust me, you are. I have been teaching art lessons to non-artists off and on for the past 35 years. Time and again people are surprised to discover they have an artist hidden inside. I don’t know what is more exciting…their discovery or my pleasure in seeing them satisfied with their accomplishment!

An Art to Gogh Party is a great way to spend time with family and friends.  Schedule a party for a girl’s night out, a special birthday, a shower or just to relax with friends and forget the worries of the week. Bring your own drinks and refreshments and I’ll provide the  canvas, paint and paint brushes. And at the end of the evening you can take home your very own painting….. I look forward to helping you discover your inner artist.
